Best cold email agency NZ: nine agencies compared for 2027
Last verified 2026-10-27.
GrowthPal publishes this page. GrowthPal is a B2B outbound and GTM engineering agency based in Kathmandu, Nepal, trading as Inferno Media, LLC, registered in Kentucky, USA. It does not work in New Zealand, so it is not listed in the table below, and the section near the foot of this page says why. A separate company that shares the GrowthPal name does M&A lead sourcing and has nothing to do with this one.
Which type of agency suits which type of New Zealand company?
Shortlisting a cold email agency NZ side starts with a question most rankings skip: where is the team actually sitting? Calling-led firms in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch suit buyers whose prospects answer the phone. Email-led suppliers can sit offshore, and most of the ones ranked for this market already do. Nine agencies are compared below on what their own sites state.
Cold email agency NZ shortlist: nine firms compared
Every cell comes from the agency's own current website on the date shown, never from a ranking. The cold email agencies New Zealand searchers are shown elsewhere include several that have never claimed a New Zealand address, so this table records what each firm says about itself and leaves the gap visible where there is one.
| Agency | HQ and markets stated on its own site | Best for | Channels stated | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2B Connected | Structured data gives Riccarton, Christchurch, New Zealand | Companies that want outbound calling, telemarketing and B2B sales support from one Kiwi contact center | Outbound calling, telemarketing, customer service, market research, contact center technology | 2bconnected.co.nz, accessed 2026-10-27 |
| Sales Science | Auckland, named in its own page title | Smaller sellers who want a sales agency relationship rather than a seat-based SDR contract | Sales agency services, lead generation, appointment setting | salesscience.co.nz, accessed 2026-10-27 |
| Corporate Connect | Wellington, named on its own site, which describes itself as a New Zealand call center | Buyers who need inbound and outbound handled by the same team, including government and membership work | Inbound and outbound contact center, lead generation, appointment generation, product research | corporateconnect.co.nz, accessed 2026-10-27 |
| Concentrate | Structured data gives Christchurch, New Zealand | Companies that want outbound attached to a HubSpot build rather than run beside it | HubSpot CRM implementation, growth marketing, campaigns | concentrate.co.nz, accessed 2026-10-27 |
| Hot Leads | No city stated on its own site. Its title names New Zealand | Database reactivation and telemarketing campaigns against a list you already own | Telemarketing, lead generation, database reactivation | hotleads.co.nz, accessed 2026-10-27 |
| Elevare | No city stated anywhere on its own site. Operates on a New Zealand domain | Local mailout campaigns rather than national outbound programs | Mailout campaigns, marketing services | elevare.co.nz, accessed 2026-10-27 |
| Nousu Collective | Structured data gives Sydney, Australia. Its own site names Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch among the cities it covers | Trans-Tasman sellers who want the same team working both sides at once | Outsourced SDR, cold calling, cold email, LinkedIn | nousucollective.com, accessed 2026-10-27 |
| Lead Express | Structured data gives Scoresby, Australia. Sells coverage across Australia and New Zealand | Companies that want a long-running telemarketing and appointment setting operation across the region | Telemarketing, appointment setting, lead generation | leadgeneration.com.au, accessed 2026-10-27 |
| Outbound Pros | Its own structured data gives Austin, Texas, United States, while a widely circulated ranking lists it first among New Zealand cold email agencies | Buyers who want a deliverability-led email program and do not need anyone in New Zealand hours | Cold email, outbound systems | outboundpros.com, accessed 2026-10-27 |
The last two rows are here on purpose. Both are ranked at the top of a widely circulated list of New Zealand cold email agencies, and both state on their own sites that they are somewhere else. That is a fit fact rather than a criticism, and the same disclosure standard applies to GrowthPal, which is in Nepal and is not in this table at all.
How to choose an agency for New Zealand
Ten checks worth making before you sign with any cold outreach agency selling into New Zealand. Each has the question to put to them and what a straight answer sounds like.
| What to check | The question to ask | What a good answer sounds like |
|---|---|---|
| Where the team actually sits | Which city is your team in, and can you point me at where your site says so? | A city on their own website, not in a directory. Three of the nine firms above state no city at all, and two state a city on the other side of the world from this market. |
| Which consent applies | For each contact, are we relying on express, inferred or deemed consent? | They use the three words the regulator uses and can say which applies to which segment of the list, rather than treating a published address as a free pass. |
| Evidence of consent | If a complaint came in, what would you hand over for that contact? | A record per contact. The Department of Internal Affairs states plainly that the onus of proof of consent is on the sender of the message, and the sender is you. |
| The deemed consent conditions | When you rely on a published business address, what do you check first? | That the address was published in a business or official capacity, that the message is relevant to that person's business, role, functions or duties, and that the publication carries no statement refusing unsolicited messages. |
| Unsubscribe speed | How quickly is an unsubscribe actioned here? | Within five working days, counted from the day after the recipient used the facility. New Zealand's window is shorter than the American or Canadian one, and a supplier running a single global process will usually be running the slower one. |
| The unsubscribe facility itself | What does the unsubscribe link look like, and how long does it keep working? | Clear, conspicuous, free to use and functional for at least 30 days after the original message, which is the standard the regulator states. |
| Sender identification | Whose name and contact details go in the message? | Yours, accurately. The requirement is to identify yourself and provide accurate contact details for the sender, and an alias that obscures the company fails it. |
| List provenance | Was any of this list built with harvesting software? | A flat no with named sources. The regulator states outright that businesses must not use electronic address harvesting software. |
| Business card assumptions | Do you treat a business card as consent? | No further than the meeting it came from. The regulator's own guidance says a card exchange supports inferred consent only for messages related to that meeting or relationship, and never for emailing a third party named on the card. |
| Reporting definitions | What counts as a positive reply, and may we read the replies ourselves? | A written counting rule, raw reply volume shown next to positive replies, and inbox access. |
What New Zealand spam law requires
Commercial email to New Zealand recipients is governed by the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 and enforced by the Department of Internal Affairs. Everything below is quoted or paraphrased from the Department's own published guidance, read on the date shown. The statute itself is served through a client-side application that returns nothing to an automated reader, so it was not read firsthand, and nothing here is attributed to the Act's wording.
- Consent comes first. The Department states that a commercial electronic message may only be sent if the recipient has consented to receive it. Like Canada and Australia, and unlike the United States, New Zealand asks for consent before the first message rather than an opt-out after it.
- The sender has to prove it. Verbal consent counts, but the Department advises keeping a record, because the onus of proof of consent is on the sender of the message. A policy document is not a record; a per-contact note is.
- Deemed consent is how B2B outbound works here. Deemed consent may apply to an address published in a business or official capacity, where the message is relevant to the business, role, functions or duties of the person, and where the address is not accompanied by a statement refusing unsolicited messages. That is the provision a New Zealand cold email program actually runs on.
- Silence is not consent. The Department states that silence is not consent, and that an email saying click here to unsubscribe cannot be used to establish consent in the first place. A sequence that treats no reply as permission to continue has misread the position.
- A business card is narrow. The Department's guidance treats a business card exchange as supporting inferred consent only for messages related to that meeting or relationship. It does not let you email a third party whose details appear on the card.
- Identify yourself. Senders must identify themselves and include accurate contact details for the sender of the email. Two of the three obligations in New Zealand are about who you are, not about what you are selling.
- A functional unsubscribe facility. The facility must be clear and conspicuous, free to use, and likely to be functional for at least 30 days after the original message is sent. A link that dies with the campaign does not meet the standard.
- Five working days, not ten. Unsubscribe requests must be actioned within five working days, counted from the day after the recipient used the facility. This is the single most commonly missed New Zealand detail, because most agency tooling is configured to the ten business day window used in North America.
- No harvesting software. The Department states that businesses must not use electronic address harvesting software, and separately that businesses must always comply with the Privacy Act. Both sit alongside the spam rules rather than inside them.
This is a plain summary of published guidance from the Department of Internal Affairs, not legal advice. Check your own position with a New Zealand lawyer before a campaign goes out.
How outbound actually runs in New Zealand
The rankings are not describing this country
A widely circulated list of the ten best cold email agencies in New Zealand puts a firm whose own structured data says Austin, Texas in first place, and a firm whose own site names Kyiv and London in second. Four more names on that list have no website this research could reach at all. Whatever else is true of the New Zealand market, the published rankings for it are not a map of it.
Nobody links to anyone
Neither of the two vendor pages that dominate these results links to a single agency it ranks. A reader who wants to check one claim has to go and search for the company themselves. That is worth knowing before treating any ordered list in this category as research rather than marketing.
The phone still leads
Of the nine firms above, six describe calling, telemarketing or contact center work before they describe email, and appointment setting New Zealand buyers ask for is usually delivered by phone rather than by sequence. New Zealand is a small market where a B2B lead generation agency can realistically reach the whole addressable set by voice, which changes the arithmetic that makes email attractive in larger countries.
Five working days changes the tooling
Most outbound platforms and most agency processes are built around the North American ten business day unsubscribe window. New Zealand's is five working days from the day after the request. An outbound sales agency New Zealand buyers hire offshore will usually be running the longer window by default, and that is a specific thing to ask about rather than a general one.
Two islands, one time zone, a long way from everywhere
New Zealand runs a single time zone, which removes the staggering problem that the United States, Canada and Australia all have. What it does not remove is distance from the supplier: a team in Europe or North America is working while New Zealand sleeps. Ask who reads a reply and when, and treat an unspecific answer as the answer.
Where New Zealand prospect data legitimately comes from
New Zealand's public registers are unusually tidy, and one identifier runs through most of them.
- The New Zealand Business Number register. A single identifier for every business in the country, linked to its trading name, address and status. Checking a list against it is the cheapest way to remove businesses that no longer exist before a single message is sent. New Zealand Business Number, accessed 2026-10-27.
- The Companies Register. Directors, shareholders, registered offices, annual returns and status for every registered company. This is where a qualifying event lives: an incorporation, a change of director, a new registered office. A list built from an event is defensible in a way that a list built from a job title is not. New Zealand Companies Register, accessed 2026-10-27.
- The Companies Office. The parent service, which also hosts the other registers worth knowing about, from incorporated societies to the personal property securities register. Each one is a different qualifying event, and each is public. New Zealand Companies Office, accessed 2026-10-27.
- The regulator's own guidance, before the list is built. Reading the Department's spam guidance before assembling a list is faster than retrofitting consent onto one afterward. It is also the right place to send a prospect who asks why they were contacted. Department of Internal Affairs, spam questions and answers, accessed 2026-10-27.
Why GrowthPal is not in the table above
GrowthPal publishes this page and is not listed on it. That is deliberate, and the reasoning belongs in the open rather than in a footnote.
What it has documented in this market
- GrowthPal works with B2B companies across the US, UK, Europe and Australia. New Zealand is not among those markets.
- The proof register behind this site holds no New Zealand result of any kind, and this page will not borrow a figure from another market to suggest otherwise.
- The team works from Kathmandu, Nepal. The legal entity is Inferno Media, LLC, registered in Kentucky, USA.
- 4M+ cold emails sent for 40+ B2B companies, in the markets listed above.
What it has not
- No New Zealand office, no New Zealand staff and no New Zealand phone number.
- No New Zealand client, named or unnamed.
- No experience of the five working day unsubscribe window in a live campaign, which is a specific operational difference rather than a general one.
- No cold calling, no LinkedIn outreach and no paid media anywhere. Cold email is the whole service.
Who it is not for
- Any New Zealand company looking for a supplier today. The nine firms above are the ones with something to show in this market.
- Buyers who need a person answering in New Zealand hours.
- Anyone looking for the other company called GrowthPal, which does M&A lead sourcing and is unrelated to this one.
- If outbound in the US, UK, Europe or Australia is the actual question, the rest of this site is the useful part.
Every figure above is counted the way the methodology block sets out. A reply rate quoted without its denominator is not a figure.
Questions New Zealand buyers actually ask
Do I need consent before emailing a New Zealand business?
Yes, in some form. The Department of Internal Affairs states that a commercial electronic message may only be sent if the recipient has consented, and recognizes express, inferred and deemed consent. B2B outbound here normally runs on deemed consent, which applies to an address published in a business capacity where the message is relevant to that person's role. This is a summary of published guidance, not legal advice.
Is a cold email agency NZ program usually email or phone?
Phone, more often than not. Six of the nine firms above describe calling, telemarketing or contact center work before they describe sequences, which reflects a market small enough that a B2B lead generation agency can realistically reach the whole addressable set by voice. An email-led program here is a deliberate choice, and worth making knowingly rather than by default.
How fast does an unsubscribe have to be actioned in New Zealand?
Within five working days, counted from the day after the recipient used the unsubscribe facility. Separately, the facility must be clear, conspicuous, free and likely to work for at least 30 days after the original message. The five day window is shorter than the ten business days used in North America, and offshore suppliers often run the longer one by default.
What is deemed consent, in practice?
It applies where someone has published an address in a business or official capacity, the message is relevant to their business, role, functions or duties, and the published address carries no statement refusing unsolicited messages. All three conditions matter. It is the provision that makes business-to-business outreach workable, and it is narrower than it first sounds.
Can I treat a business card as permission to email?
Only narrowly. The regulator's guidance treats a card exchange as supporting inferred consent for messages related to that meeting or relationship. It does not extend to unrelated offers later, and it never covers emailing a third party whose details happen to appear on the card. Record where each address came from so the distinction survives staff turnover.
Are the agencies ranked for New Zealand actually in New Zealand?
Several are not. The firm ranked first on a widely circulated list of New Zealand cold email agencies states Austin, Texas in its own structured data, and the firm ranked second names Kyiv and London on its own site. Four other names on that list had no reachable website at all. Check the agency's own site for a city before you accept a ranking's word for it.
Which firms in this comparison state a New Zealand city?
Four. 2B Connected gives Riccarton in Christchurch, Concentrate gives Christchurch, Sales Science names Auckland in its own title, and Corporate Connect names Wellington. Hot Leads and Elevare operate New Zealand domains without stating a city. Nousu Collective and Lead Express are Australian, and Outbound Pros is in Texas.
Which New Zealand registers hold a qualifying event?
The Companies Register holds incorporations, director changes, registered office changes and annual returns, each of them dated. The New Zealand Business Number register gives one identifier per business with its current status, which removes companies that no longer trade. The Companies Office hosts the rest, from incorporated societies to personal property securities. An event with a date beats a job title filter.
Is an offshore supplier a problem for a New Zealand campaign?
Not for the law, which applies to the message rather than the sender's address, but potentially for the operation. New Zealand runs one time zone and sits a long way from both Europe and North America, so an offshore team is working while your prospects sleep. The questions that matter are who reads a reply, how fast, and whether their unsubscribe process runs on five working days.
What evidence should a New Zealand supplier be able to produce?
Two things. For any figure: the denominator, the period, and the written definition of what was counted. For any contact on the list: which of express, inferred or deemed consent is being relied on, and what record exists. The Department of Internal Affairs puts the onus of proof of consent on the sender, so the second one matters to you rather than to the agency.
